“Your website is not working”, Me.
“What?! No, it is working for me, mate.”, the client of my compititor.
“Check yourself.”, I said confidently.
“I just checked, and it is working. What are you talking about?” the client said annoyingly.
“Humm. No, it is not working for me for sure. I sent you a screenshot. Have a look.”, I replied politely.
Well. Most of the time, if you have a website, you would not bother to check if it is working (for you!) all the time. (It’s our ego, and nobody likes to get hurt!) And you will ignore it if someone pointing you out.
Right
So, who is right and who is wrong? In that case, nobody was wrong.
Let me explained:
Website address called URL. A universal Resource Locator is an address where your site is hosted and do the stuff.
Hold on.
Here is the main problem. It generally starts with “http://” or “https://” but does not stop there. You also need to tell if there is a “www.” or nothing.
What?
Yep, you heard it right. There is a setting for the website. It needs to be configured correctly. Generally, www is configured in your DNS record as CNAME and pointed to the correct routing of your website. It is a common practice.
“But my website is working fine.”, said a still annoyed potential client.
Okay. Let us have a look.
Check your website address. Is it www.yourwebsite.com, or is it yourwebsite.com?
Try both.

And see the difference.
“Aha. Thank you for pointing it out. I was wondering why my business is not getting any traffic after spending a fortune on Google advertisements?”, a same competitor’s client.
“Now you know :), why!!!!”, Me smiling.
